A Project We Support

Protecting the Southern Cardamom Watershed in Cambodia

The Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project spans the breathtaking Cardamom Mountains of Cambodia, reaching down to the Gulf of Thailand. This region, a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot, supports one of Southeast Asia’s largest mangrove forests within the Koh Kong estuary. In collaboration with local communities, this initiative protects 497,000 hectares of vital coastal watershed. Under the United Nations REDD+ framework, the project enhances climate resilience, conserves biodiversity, and fosters sustainable livelihoods. From evergreen forests to coastal mangroves, this diverse landscape is a cornerstone of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot and a key player in climate change mitigation efforts.

FAQs

  • Being carbon neutral means that your business, event, or product has balanced the greenhouse gas emissions it produces by reducing emissions where possible and offsetting the rest through verified projects. This results in a net-zero impact on the environment.

  • Carbon offsets allow you to compensate for your emissions by supporting projects that reduce or remove greenhouse gases elsewhere. Examples include reforestation, renewable energy development, or capturing methane from landfills. Each offset represents one tonne of CO₂ equivalent reduced or removed, helping you balance your carbon footprint. We only use quality verified credits.

  • Climate Active is an Australian government-backed initiative that certifies businesses, events, and products as carbon neutral. Their certification ensures transparency and credibility by verifying emissions calculations and offsetting efforts. We’re proud to offer Climate Active certifications as part of our services, helping businesses showcase their commitment to sustainability.

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources (e.g., fuel combustion).

Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, or cooling.

Scope 3: Indirect emissions from your value chain (e.g., travel, procurement).
